Meryl Krieger
Clarinet

Meryl finished her Ph.D. in
Folklore and Ethnomusicology in
2009. She also has degrees in
Piano Performance and Pedagogy,
Music Theory, Communications,
and Anthropology. Having taught
piano since 1992, Meryl brings an
incredible amount of experience to
the Stafford Music Academy,
where she has been teaching piano
and clarinet since January of 2006.
Meryl is also very active as a
performer with local theater
groups
.

Jessica Prus
Flute


Jessica has studied flute for fifteen years and has
been teaching for twelve. She has also been
studying piano since she was in middle school. She
holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Flute
Performance from Northwestern University and the
University of Louisville. She is currently pursuing a
Master
of Science in Music Education degree
which she expects to complete in 2013.  She
currently performs with the Evansville and
Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Orchestras.  Jessica is a regular clinician for area
high schools and youth orchestras and has been teaching for Stafford Music
Academy since 2008.

We choose from among these fantastic musicians
as well as local artists to find those performers
who also make excellent teachers.

Phil has played guitar, bass, and oboe for 18
years and has teaching experience on all three
instruments. He holds a Bachelor’s of Music
degree in Music Composition from Northern
Illinois University and is currently pursuing a
Ph.D. in Musicology from Indiana University.

Active as a composer, songwriter, performer,
and scholar, he spends much of his free time
writing and recording music in his home studio.
Before joining Stafford Music Academy in the
fall of 2010, he taught music appreciation and
music theory at Kishwaukee College in Malta,
IL.
